Reading, “The Proudest Blue: A Story of Hijab and Family” by Ibtihaj Muhammed. Afterwards, we fingerpainted blue works of art that made us proud!

A colleague of mine shared that one of her students had a huge grin during this read aloud as her mother wears a hijab. We connected feeling proud to our social emotional learning and discussed how our finger paintings made us proud!
